EAGLECLAN

FOUNDING

Eagleclan was founded by the recently deceased Eaglestar, a fierce and stubborn tom set on living separate from the other cats of Agawa Canyon. After the separation from Wolfstar and the others, Eaglestar ventured out to the outer walls of the canyon with his followers, being the first to establish a clan.
EAGLECLAN CATS
Cats belonging to Eagleclan tend to have tall, strong builds, and thick/long and wide paws to give them balance and aid in traversing the rocky walls of their territory.
They are often thick-furred, with pelts in lighter colors like white, grey, cream, and tan, although orange and reddish cats are just as common. They tend towards amber, blue, and green eyes.
ROCK CLIMBERS
Rockclimbers are cats who excel in scaling and traversing Eagleclan’s rocky cliffs; they patrol the rock walls, watch for changes in weather, hunt where it's dangerous for other cats to go, and help out their clan in any way possible. They often have lighter fur than their clanmates to match the rocky cliffs, and large paws with long jagged claws to better climb and grip the rock. A warrior must be at least 17 moons old before they’re able to train as a rock climber.
Within the clan, Rock Climbers are an elite group of well respected cats, falling below leaders and deputies in status. Despite this, climbers are encouraged to be active in their clans, and spend a portion of their time helping out around camp, and exclusive behaviors are looked down upon.
The first rock climber was Rustthroat, who before the founding of Eagleclan, spent most of her time off by herself in the woods and finding high places to climb and be alone. Once the clans split and ventured off to find new territory, Rustthroat led most of the exploring parties and actually discovered the cave system that now acts as the camp for Eagleclan.
TERRITORY

Eagleclan Camp is a system of caves in the rocky cliffs of the canyon. Their main entrance to camp is hidden amongst the thick trees bordering the rock walls. Because their territory lies mostly along the cliff face, the dens are small caverns not far from the camp's main entrance.
Besides the cliffs of Agawa Canyon, the thick forest surrounding their camp and the nearby swamps fall in their territory. They share an indirect border with Otterclan because of the river, and as a result, interclan friendships are common amongst the two clans.
NOTABLE LOCATIONS

THE SMOKESNAKE'S DOMAIN : The Smokesnake’s Domain is an area usually avoided during the day due to the loud twoleg beast that goes through the area. Its safe after sundown, so some of the younger warriors hang out there at night. Because of this beast, the cats of Eagleclan have few predators.

THE BOG : The Bog is a common hunting ground. It can be dangerous for younger cats, but acts as a good place for apprentices and older kits to hang out and play.

THE FOREST : The Forest takes up the majority of Eagleclan’s territory, and acts as hunting and training grounds, hangout spot, and a common area for healers to collect herbs.

THE RIVER : The River is shared by Eagle and Otterclan, and is a common fishing and swimming spot for the cats of both clans.
CUSTOMS
Eagleclan is a very close-knit and communal clan. Warriors often hunt and eat in groups, and are hardly seen alone. Because of this closeness, Eagleclan cats can be slow to trust those from other clans, and it is not uncommon for low ranking cats in Eagleclan to not participate in gatherings or celebrations.
Mentors within Eagleclan are often treated as a third parent to kits, and are seen as both life and spiritual guides, and counsel their apprentices on all aspects of clan life; a good mentor makes a good warrior.
